Dr. Hopwood works from eclectic psychodynamic and relational approaches. He focuses on issues of identity, self-awareness, and self-acceptance. Dr. Hopwood has specialized training in integrating spirituality, religious, and theological concerns and practices into therapy. He is especially interested in working with people to explore spirituality and meaning in their lives.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

Dr. Hopwood has worked in mental health and social services across several states since 1978. He has worked with trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse people in the Boston area since 2005. He formerly managed the Fenway Health Trans Health Program, from 2006-2019.

Dr. Hopwood is a nationally known speaker, educator, consultant, and peer-reviewed published author on gender diversity and on spiritually integrative psychotherapy.
