Let us help you reach your goals. We provide support and guidance to individual adults in regular counseling (therapy) sessions so you can maintain balance and create meaning in life.
Many clients report their relationships improve and they feel more self-confident and able to manage the ups and downs of everyday life with the support of individual therapy. Talking with a therapist can help you understand yourself better while learning how to more effectively manage life’s situations. In interactive, personable sessions, we each use individualized approaches to help people improve communication skills, deepen self-awareness, and develop self-compassion and confidence to create satisfying lives and relationships.

Ruben works in his practice as a licensed psychologist with a background in vocational rehabilitation, religious leadership, theology and spiritual direction. In addition to his professional license as a psychologist, he is credentialed as a Health Services Psychologist through the National Register and is a Certified Member and Certified Mental Health Mentor with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Global Education Initiative (GEI). Ruben primarily works with people learning to understand, accept, and articulate their feelings and needs, embrace healthy vulnerability, and create intimacy and a sense of calm in their lives. Ruben’s 40+ years as part of the LGBTQ+ community and over 50 years in religious and spiritual communities deeply inform his work. He has a focused specialty in gender diversity with over 18 years’ clinical experience with trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse communities supporting people to explore and embody their authentic selves. He especially enjoys working with medical, mental health, and religious professionals in therapy. Ruben has additional specialized training to support people exploring and integrating current practices and past experiences of spirituality, beliefs, faith traditions, and value systems into their mental health treatment to improve their quality of life. Ruben takes a non-shaming, self-acceptance approach to treatment with people. He says, “I enjoy working with people who are strongly motivated to explore themselves and change whatever blocks their pathways to creating the lives they love.” Watch a 90-second video of Ruben talking about the work he does.
